Who should not use weight loss medication?
+
Weight-loss medications are not suitable for everyone. Treatment will not be approved if it is considered unsafe or clinically inappropriate.
You should not use weight-loss medications if you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, if you are under 18 years of age, if you have a current or past eating disorder (such as anorexia nervosa or bulimia), if you have a history of pancreatitis, if you have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 (MEN2), if you have certain severe gastrointestinal conditions or other significant medical conditions where treatment may be unsafe, or if you are taking medications that may interact dangerously with weight-loss treatment.
During the consultation, a registered doctor will carefully review your medical questionnaire. If treatment is not suitable, your request will be declined, or you may be asked to provide additional medical information to ensure your safety.
-Dr Alhasan
How does the consultation work?
+
The consultation is completed through a secure online medical questionnaire. You will be asked clinically relevant questions about your health, medical history, and current medications.
A registered doctor will then review your answers to assess whether treatment is appropriate. Based on this review, the doctor may approve treatment, decline the request if it is not clinically suitable, or ask for additional information or supporting medical documentation before making a final decision.
- Dr Alhasan
How long does review take?
+
Most reviews are completed within 24 hours. Complex cases can take longer if we need extra information. You will receive updates by email.
What treatments do you offer?
+
GLP-1 based treatments and non-GLP-1 options. The clinician recommends what fits your profile and goals. Treatment choice is always based on safety first.
Injections vs oral options, what is the difference?
+
Injectable and oral treatments differ mainly in how they are taken and how they work in the body.
Injectable treatments are usually given as a small injection under the skin, often once weekly. They tend to provide steady medication levels and are commonly associated with greater effectiveness, but some people may experience gastrointestinal side effects, particularly when starting treatment or increasing the dose.
Oral treatments are taken as tablets or capsules, typically once daily. They may be more convenient for some patients and avoid injections, but they may be less potent or require stricter daily adherence to be effective.
A registered doctor will review your medical information and discuss which option is most suitable for you based on your health history, preferences, and clinical suitability.

What side effects are common?
+
Like all medicines, weight loss treatment can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. The most common side effects are usually mild to moderate and often improve as your body adjusts. These can include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea or constipation, abdominal discomfort or bloating, reduced appetite, and headache or fatigue. Serious side effects are uncommon, but they can happen. You will receive clear safety information, and a registered doctor will assess whether treatment is suitable for you before approving it. If you develop severe or persistent symptoms, stop the medication and seek medical advice promptly.

What if I am struggling with side effects?
+
If you experience side effects, many are temporary and often improve as your body adjusts. Simple steps like smaller meals, staying well hydrated, and avoiding heavy or fatty foods can help.
If symptoms are persistent, troublesome, or getting worse, stop the medication and seek medical advice. You can also contact our clinical team for guidance. A registered doctor may recommend practical adjustments, further advice, or stopping treatment if needed.
If you develop severe symptoms or feel seriously unwell, seek urgent medical care immediately.
